Hi,
Can anyone tell me what X-Plane kits are out there in 1/48 scale. I have the Eduard Bell X-1.
Try www.planemechs.com Click on X Fighter section. Never knew there that many Experimental planes during WW2. Very interesting.
I just recently picked up the Eduard X-1 too. Looks great and can’t wait to build it.
Special Hobby makes a multimedia kit of the X-15. It was a limited run, though, and sells for over $40. Not horrible, I guess, but still a little pricey for my taste. Maybe someday.

Hasegawa made a 1/72 Grumman X-29. Very nice easy kit.
And there are several resin kits of X planes from Anigrand, unicraft etc.
I forgot one important x palne kit manufacturer : Muroc Models.
Most of these resin kits are 1/72 because they get to expensive when made in 1/48.
If I recall correctly, Revell made an injection kit of the X-3 Stiletto way, way back (late 60’s or early 70’s). I can’t tell you what scale it was though.
EDIT: A quick search indicates that it was originally released in 1956 and was 1/65th scale
Lindberg made a 1/48th scale X-3 and it has been re-released many, many time. It may be easy to find at hobby contests or on E-bay. Revell made a model of the Bell X-5 (originallly a WWII German proto-type) and it was the typical “box scale” of the time. This has been recently re-released as part of the “anniverasary series”. Lindberg also had a release of one of the experimental VTOL aircraft. I recall seeing a release of a 1/48th X-13, but cannot remember who manufactured the kit. It could be the old Aurora molds. Good luck on your quest for X-planes.
Aurora made the original kit of the Ryan X-13. The kit is nice except for all the raised rivets. I made one years ago and still have one factory sealed. They sell for upwards of $300, Microscale used to make a nice version of the XF-92A; Strombeck X1B Revell X-3; Hawk XF-90; Revell X-5; Aurora XFY-1 Pogo; Hobbytime XV-3 convertiplane; Aurora and others X-107; Entex XP-50; Comet X-18; Griffin Republic XF-12 Rainbow; Dragon Model Works X-4 and X-5; Airmodel XP-55; and Airmodel XF-85. There may be other X planes available that I am not aware of. The ones I have listed are all in my collection of kits to build someday. The XF-12, X-4 and X-5 are vacuform.
Lindberg made the Convair Pogo as wel:

EEK!
I have this on a shelf in my basement. Alas, I never painted it. Looks rather weird.
