This is a repaint of the Ken West X-15A-2 to represent how it appeared in the summer of 1966. In particular, it is Mission 2-50-89, flown by Pete Knight on 18 November 1966. It was 66671’s second flight with full external tanks, and Knight hit Mach 6.33. NASA experimented with various ablative materials so some panels and surfaces were covered with an orange ablator material.
Paper is 170gsm. Various bits were scratchbuilt to improve the kit’s accuracy.

Thanks for the kind words. And yes, you should give a card model a try. There are a number of styrene modeling skills that carry over, but there are a few other easy skills to pick up.
And re: your stash. My stash fits easily in a small box since it is all flat cardstock…
