WWII US military tow vehicles.

I’m looking for some pics that show the Us towing German 88mm Flak 36’s if they even did. I’m trying to see what are my options on a build and posable Dio as well. And if they did, what company makes a good US Tow vehicle.[:D]

Tamiya makes an awesome M26 Dragon Wagon one with and one without a trailer. There are photos of these things dragging Panthers and other German equipment.

Italeri also does an M32 recovery vehicle based on the Sherman M4A1.

The M26 armoured recovery vehicle is a superb kit. It is kinda pricey, but I’m sure that if anything, one of these could tow an 88.

btw, Rob, know anywhere that I can pick up an M-32 kit?

I’ve seen photos of an M4 High Speed Tractor hauling a captured 88mm Flak 36 or 37.

The problem with the M26 (which is a terrific kit) is that it towed vehicles with bars, and trailers with its plate (?). Correct me but I don’t even think the M26 had a normal towing pintle. Not to say it would have been impossible but it seems a bit of overkill.

Hobby Fan and PSP make a full resin M4 HST. Not cheap, either one.

I believe I have two on hand.

M26 does have a normal tow pintle as well. All US military trucks have a tow pintle, even tractor units.

Are you willing to part with one? [:)]

Yeah, I could stand to part with it.
