WWI German Lozenge Camouflage, interior tinting

I am new to WWI aircraft modeling so am not familiar with how patterns printed on linen coverings would appear from the inside of the fuselage.

If the German lozenge covering is over-painted on the exterior with another color, should that color be used as a base for the interior cockpit decals?

I have written Wingnut Wings with these questions but have received no response.

Thank you for any assistance.

Just theory on my part, but if the over-painting was done outside the factory, then I doubt the new colour would soak through to the interior. The lozenge fabric once installed, would have a few coats of clear resin and/or dope.

In regards to the interior, many modelers would just apply more of the same lozenge to the cockpit walls. They should be subdued though, as the dyes did not soak all the way through. To be even more correct the pattern would be seen as a mirror image.

I do believe the Lozenge pattern on bottom of the wing was actually the underside of the fabric which was the same as the fabric on the cockpit interior. So if you want to do the interior just use the decals for the underside lazenge pattern.
