Wurger finally done.

Well, it seems like an age since I last posted pics of a completed build, but here is my latest build.

The kit itself is Tamiya’s 1/48 190F-8, with the only extras being TD wheels and Eduard PE belts, with decals being a combination of kit and Techmod. The Techmod decs came with Kagero’s Fw 190 Volume 3.

Paint is mainly Gunze acrylics, with all the camo freehanded apart from the yellow bands and rudder markings which were sprayed first and then masked.

The weathering is based on a number of images from the Kagero book, as well as from Brett Green’s Gotterdamerung, which I highly reccommend.

Thanks for letting me share.

Wow, Karl…the end result is definately worth the wait! I love the finish…I strive for that look, but have not been able toget one as “smooth” as yours. Great weathering, and attention to details. Extremely nice job on one of the neatest Luftwaffe birds out there.

That paint work is excellent. I don’t know if you just applied it lightly or compersated for scale but that camo contrast and color reproduction looks right on and as realistic as it gets. You also did a nice job of weathering those lighter colors the overall look of that 190 is very convincing the eye. Alot of little weathering details went a long way on that 190. I like it KJ200

Fantastic work, I can only agree with the others and congratulate you on a super build. Keep em comming!

Wow. I agree with others, you nailed the weathering.

Very well done! Beautiful!

Looks excellent. Nice job on the weathering- not overdone, looks just right.

[#ditto] Awesome build Karl. I wouldn’t even know where to begin to complement such a wonderful build because everything looks perfect. Well Done! [tup][tup][tup]

Your paint job is teriffic. The texture looks perfect and the colors are muted eliminating any toy look to it. Great job.

What a great looking paint job!!

Very well done Karl.

Andy

Excellent build, Karl! The colors and weathering look fantastic.

Mark

Great work the paint work and weathering look excellent.

That is a very nice job you did on the German fighter. I hope to some day be able to paint like that.

Guys & Gal, thanks for all the kind words[:I]

The paint was toned down with a touch of white or buff, added to the base colour, as this softens the base colour, giving, I hope, a more realistic colour.

All the panels lines were given a light coat of Tamiya Smoke, before the whole AC was given a coat of sand yellow thinned 1 part paint to 9 parts thinners, over the upper surfaces. This helps blend in the base colours and any weathering, while also giving a slightly faded look.

All the scratches were applied with a silver prisma colour pencil, which is very controllable, and can be wiped off with a wet finger tip, if the desired effect is not achieved.

Thanks again

Karl

Excellent Karl. It really looks nice. I like the sublte affect of the lighten base color followed by the filter. Haven’t tried the filter thing yet myself but sure will now.

Thats a great looking model. I like the way you have painted and weathered it, very nice indeed.

Excellent looking model in everyway. Great job!

Jerry

Guys, thanks for the kind comments.

Marc, the filter is dead easy. Another one of those tricks from the ‘Dark Side’!

Thanks again.

Karl
