Would like feedback on what you guys think about the chinese fighters

Want feedback on yhe new JF-17,XXJ-J12,AND J-10 all of which are designed by china, the jf-17 is being built by both pakistan and china the other two are being built soley in china, the xxj-j12 looks like a f-22 from the front ,top veiw. AIR INTERNATIONAL says the jf-17 is good if not better than the F-16, trumpeter is producing a 1/72 J-10, the J-10 is based on the Isreali lavi fighter, even the JF-17 was designed around the F-16 design, also the xxj-j12 is a 4th or 5th generation fighter but i can,t wait until they produce a kit of the JF-17 and the J-10 in 1/48 scale well gotta go.

In two words… “Ugly Targets”

How many people are starving so China gets those?

The Chinese can build as many knock-off aircaft as they want, they will still be plagued with technical problems. The Chinese peobably still contend that everyone in their 'workers paradise ’ is happy and well fed too. Never mind the fact PLAAF doesn’t produce decent pilots and isn’t particularly concerned with the safety of said pilots. And as for the rare occasion where the Chinese do something original, butchy said it best, ugly target.

You would think that they’d be able to keep them from crashing into our P-3’s, too.[:(!]

Still…as ugly as some of their aircraft are, they have numbers. All the more reason to start practicing gun engagements because missiles will only take down so many… This way, superior thinking will prevail over the numbers…

Okay, getting the programming back to planes &models…

The Jf-17 seems more interesting as a fighter and a potential future trumpeter model. interesting as its the first Chinese fighter designed from the ground up. Of course its behind the US development process, but definitely will play a factor in 3rd world countries looking to replace they Mig21 fleets. But what would one make of the fact that PLAAF itself doesn’t want the JF-17? I do like the Tan/brown camo seen in some of the pictures.

The J-10 has been in development so long, I didn’t think that plane will ever show up. But it does look like its really going into production soon. Rumors was that they tried a thrust vectoring engine but failed. Also if China is indeed looking for this plane to be used in a future Aircraft carrier, then it would be interesting to see a naval variant. Considering how long it took the J10 to get developed, I wouldn’t hold my breath for the J12. Anyone wishing to build such a model now would be on pure speculation.

Back to the airplane models issue…[;)]
I was reading the posts tonight on aircraft manufacturer’s liscence fees for models. Maybe we will start to see more foreign-built aircraft as mainstream model kits now that US companies might charge more to release their product specs. Would hate to see that, but interesting to think about.

Forget the guns, time to dust off those Geenie Nukes for the hoards of Chinese F7M’s on the horizon !

hey, what’s with all the chinese fighters bashing!

I don’t know anything about the specs, but I like the rugged of a lot of chinese planes. Since trumpeter makes some (j-10, j-7, fhc-7) you could make a very intresting plane that is very unknown to the general public.

I think the design of some Chinese Fighters are rather eye catching. I plan on building a 1/32 scale I picked up.
I don’t look at building other countries aircraft as a political statement, on my behalf, but rather as another challenging aircraft model to build. Plus you learn a little about history every time you research to build a foreign fighter.
Bill.

BIg thumbs up on those sentiments Howdidyoudothat, afterall I build WWII luftwaffe planes, but that does make me a Nazi, right? Anyhow, I just finsihed up a J-7 in 1/48th by AA models. Not a great piece of engineering, but it sure was different and interesting in a blue & white flight demonstration team colors.
