All I can say is cool!![8D][8D][8D] I’ve put off trying PE detail set because, well ,yes I was intimidated. But I jumped in on an Italeri M4a1and what a riot!!The PE set is from Eduard and I’m hooked. The parts are’nt nearly as hard as I thought to bend into proper shape. The parts I need to remove on the kit do so easily and I’m lovin’ the results. The only draw back I can see is the drain on my credit cards for upcoming kits!!Man will wonders never cease!?!
What no pics??[:P] Glad to see you had a good experience. My first wasn’t…parts getting lost, parts geting glued to my fingers or the tweezers. The little parts kill me still
I just started using Pe parts too! I am building the Dragon 1/45 Fokker Tri plane. The parts were a little troublesome, but the overall outcome looks good so far. I had a lot of trouble with the machine gun jackets, but it’s not too noticible![:)]
I’m glad your first time with PE went well. My first time, the parts that didn’t end up glued to my forehead ended up on the tank looking, erm… a little battle damaged.
So far so good, I was lucky enough to get advice on the glue. A buddy told me to get the super slow set that RC people use .It gives me time to place the part and then put accelerator to set it.Knowing my luck my good first start will go sour somewhere!!Hey,
I just got that,“what no pict.s” I’ll get right on it!!![:I]
My first time with PE was an ACE kit that had included it. I was going to leave tthe PE off but then the kit would have looked incomplete. So, I took a deep breath and dove right in. It was challenging and I think I only took about three breaths the whole time I was applying the stuff. But, it went on well, and thankfully none ‘tweezerpulted’ away!
About the only mishap so far was a tyedown strap flying out of the tweezies and hitting my glasses! Luckly I found it easily. But you know what they say, it’s all fun and games till someone losess an eye!!![BH]
