This comes from the collection of Bud Taylor. I’m fairly sure that this MiG-17 was photographed from a VF-161 F-4B Phantom. I’m not sure of the exact source of this photo, that is, whether this is a gun camera still or not. I tend to think against it, though, because the other shots which accompanied this one are of the same exact format and they are clearly hand-held shots. I could be mistaken…
Anyhoo, there are two more shots of MiGs similar to this, but they require a good bit of cleanup. If I can get that done today, I’ll post them later on tonight. This image, however, is the pick of the litter…

All over the place. I’ve built a decent-sized book, magazine and original photo reference library over the years, but the internet is a wonderful place and I’ve almost filled up an 80GB hard drive… I dunno if that’s a good thing or not…
Anyhoo, this particular image came from a group of pages with all sortsa photos taken by a fellow named Russell ‘Bud’ Taylor. If I can find the url I’ll post it, as there’s alotta really good photos to be found on those pages.
