Started this a while back and then put it on the shelf of doom because the guy that was going to help me design the motor mounts and a few other parts started working on a new job and didn’t have the time.

Here’s the story behind the build. I like the looks of rear engined cars and have seen many at shows. I haven’t seen any '32 Fords with the engine in the rear. As my old '32 was falling apart from age, I decided to give it a try. The V-8 that came with it was coming apart also so I thought I’d rebuild it into something else. Found 2 Pocher Ferrari V-12 kits in my stash and decided to put 1 of them in the rear of the '32. I was going to need a lot of help as I know a little about working or the 1/1 cars but not enough to pull this off alone. A friend of mine builds 1/1 customs and rebuilds classics so I asked for help with a few problems and he agreed. Here’s where it stands as of now.

The pics might be a little mixed up and not in order but i think you get the idea. The last pic is of my friend and I with his latest build in my driveway. He rebuilt the car basicly stock but added PS, PB, Power seats and windows, AC, and topped it off with a rebuilt engine. Don’t remember just which one he started with, but it isn’t the same now. It sounds great and m-o-v-e-s. He won awards at quite a few shows with it. Now he’s looking for something new to work on.

The guy in the black “Silent Service” T-shirt is yours truly. It was my uncles birthday and he served in the subs during WWII. The shirt is a little ratty and the wife wants me to deep 6 it. You know the answer to that one. I’ll sew it together as it falls part.[;)]

Man, that car is going to “Eat” a lot of real estate when you get around to displaying it.

Is that an AARP membership card your using as a cowl vent ?

( not that I know what the AARP is or anything… ahem …)

Yep, that is an AARP card. Have loads of cards in a drawer where I put them when they come in the mail. Only problem is that not all glues work with them. 5 min. epoxy works great though.

Still undecided if I’m going to make the vent operational or not. I’m finding out that the larger you build, the more detail you have to put in it or it doesn’t look just right.
