Ran across these via a magazine article. Evidently it is a company started by Peter Jackson of The Lord of the Rings fame… I’ve never really considered WW1 era birds before, but these look REALLY cool and have some crazy paint schemes. A few of them look like great projects. Does anyone have experience with the kits? What are they like? They look to be superb for the $$$. Pics would be great!
Yep - Jackson’s film company is called Wingnut Productions (or Wingnut Films…), so there’s a common thread. Apparently he really wants to do a remake of Dambusters…which HELL YES PLEASE!
As far as the Wingnut kits go…they’re fantastic. Maybe not quite up there with Tamiya’s recent flagship 1/32 kits, but not much is.
I built the Sopwith Pup RNAS earlier this year…first biplane, first time doing simulated wood grain, first time rigging…and loved it. Definitely a kit you have to pay attention to, and take your time, but efforts are well rewarded:

There’s more of this one at my blog (see signature) under Completed Builds, complete with links to my rigging strategy, etc if you’re interested.
All being aside, that is some lovely work you do there Doogs. Rick.
Wow, that looks great! I think I’m going to go for an Albatross DV with the black and white striped “flying circus” scheme. It will hopefully be my Christmas present!

Can’t go wrong with WnW.[Y] Their kits are fantastic, loaded with a ton of details. The instruction booklet alone is like a mini enciclopedia.
