WingNut Wings New Kits

Hyperscale has an article about 7 new kits announced by WNW. Good news if you like biplanes.

Soppy Tripe!

I predict it can’t be that long before they make a Camel of their own. I know they’ve said they’re not going to do kits that others have already done pretty well, and mentioned the Camel in particular with the Academy/Hobbycraft kit. But…Roden already makes a Tripe and from what I understand it’s pretty good.

And geez, the SPADs need some representin’.

And I know they’re sticking with WWI, but dang, I’d love to see them do a Stearman.

Why would they do a camel and a tripe when they have the real thing?[;)]

Got to see their stall at omaka and OMG those guys are amazing.

For me the stand-outs are the Snipe and the DH2. The Snipe is pushing the envelope on “wartime” - don’t think it was deployed until about September 1918 but stayed in service until the mid-20s. Put the Pup next to a Snipe and have the onlooker imagine something between them and you have a camel. But I like the burly look to the Snipe. And the DH2 is off the charts in funk appeal. Des at WWIaircraft.com uses a FE2 (very close to DH2) as his eye-catcher, but warns that the Roden kit is a serious headache. That would be a spectacular display model after proper rigging and hopefully well enough done that mortals could give it a try.

Lovin’ that D.VII, and the E.II will be a must-have in my stash. [Y]
