Does anyone know of any aftermarket louver kits available and if not how might one go about scratch building them. I am working on a bandit edition trans am to give to a buddy and would like it to be like the one that we never got around to restoring as teens. The only thing I see that I might ned is the that for the window and come up with something for the c.b. since it looks like amt did’nt include one even though thats one of the major componets to make it the bandit. Thanks.
The CB antenna shouldn’t be a problem. Just shave a little bit of sprue to make the base, then stretched sprue for the whip. Small strips of thin plasticard would be great for the louvers. Just cut them out, glue to a support strip, and paint. What could be easier?

Well I guess I could have thought of that. Sometomes the easy things are the hardest to think of. I’ll have to mess around with it htough, never tried anything with plasticard.
HEY,
I dont mean to sound stupid, but what is a louver? Also, for the CB, guitar string with a bit of elmers glue at the end may work.

Ah don’t be feeling stupid now. A louver is a sunshade typr thing that goes on the outside of a window. They used to be popular on Trans Ams and Camaro’s. Here are some pics of one off and on a car.
Ok so the pics of it on the car did’nt work here’s the link if want to take a look,

Demono- I have a antenna base in my spare box from a tank of some sorts, you think that could work for a CB antenna?
Absolutely. The base for a CB antenna is almost identical to those used in regular antennas. I’ve repaired several of them. You may be lucky and even have the spring mount with it. Just make sure the whip is suitably long enough.
