Hello,
I just began construction of the Tamiya Wildcat in 1/48th scale. Does anyone know if there are decals available for a 'cat that took part in the “Battle of Midway”? Unless I’m wrong, the decals with the kit do not seem to depict a 'cat from this famous battle. If none for a Midway plane, are decals for Joe Foss’s plane out there? I like to build aircraft that had important historical value. I hear decals for the P-38 that “Got Yamamoto” are out there too. Any suggestions or links would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
Try searching through Super Scale, Eagle Strike, or Aero Master for Wildcat decals. I’ve see a few for USMC Wildcats. The link below might be helpful:

Semper Fi!
Aeromaster set 48-149 has a few midway wildcats on it. Try what Dragonfire suggests and you’ll find alot more. There will definitely be sets for Foss’s wildcats out there.
I have a set for Joe Foss’s wildcat from Aeromaster. It’s in aset called US Navy and Marines top guns in WW2. It has lots of different aircraft from about 12 aces (Boyington, Foss, Vraciu, Mccampbell etc). If you can get your hands on this set it is well worth it.
Pingtang’s hit it on the head with that decal sheet/book! I forgot I had one (used a portion to depict Boyington’s Corsair). A good decal ref to have.
