My wife took me to Hobbytown where I was only planning to get paint. I not only got my paint but she said get a few other things, which resulted in my aquisition of the Hasegawa 190A4 and a Cutting Edge resin correction for the DO-217 by Monogram. I caught the resin correction in a clearance bin for the magnificent sum of $4.00.[bgr]

My wifey is exhausted. [:(] It’s been a long family day.
I didn’t get anything model related, but it was a great family day, and boy did I need that!
G’Day AT6,
By a stroke of luck I think you have answered a question for me before I have asked it. I am on my way Up to The US of A this week from Australia with Work and am in Fresno for a Few weeks with a quick stop over in Vegas.
I was keen to survey the model scene whilst in town so We’ve established that there is a Hobby Town in Fresno is there anywhere else to check out model wise near by ?
And while I am at it any where in Vegas within Walk/Cheapish Cab fare of the Strip?
Cheers
Cairnsy
As far as Las Vegas goes, I’ve never been there. I used to go to Reno every September for the Air races. That and Virginia City are the only places I’ve ever gone to in Nevada. As far as model shops in this area Hobbytown is pretty much it. With the exception of a few model railroad shops, everyone else slowly vanished. Hope you enjoy your time here. If you are going to be here long enough, I would suggest a visit to Yosemite.
The hobby shop and Bass Pro Shops are the two stores where I rarely leave with just what I came for.I always seem to grab a few extra items.
Duh! For me, substitute “Micro-Center” for “Bass Pro Shops”. (BTW, Micro-Center is a good place for tools.)

Vegas has a great Hobbytown. Great selection of kits and aftermarket accessories as well as books. Typical Hobbytown retail prices but still worth the trip. You can get there by bus for $7 for an all day pass. PM me for specific directions, I can post a google map.
