Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but it seems kind of strange and confusing that the Old forum page is still active? If I Google FineScale modeler forum, the old site comes up and not this one?
it drove me nuts for months because you cant log into the old site, cant go through " forgot my password" or register an account. i finally emailed them and all i was told was you dont need to log in right now, I had no idea what was going on and i just gave up until i got the email about the new forum…this could have been so much smoother than it was. I think we all deserve a year subscription to the magazine for free ![]()
We’re keeping the old forum up for a bit longer to make sure everyone has wverything moved over that needs to be moved, then we’ll pull it down permanently. It’s just a precaution, because when it’s gone, it’s gone.
There are more brands than just FSM, so we needed to be patient while things played out. But we’re up and running with a solid, new forum. And you’ve figured out GIFs!
ha! I sure did! The set up is a lot more user friendly for sure.
I never got an email about this new forum and have been frustrated that I couldn’t log in to use the forum on the FSM page. I too was told that i didn’t need to log in anymore, but I just stumbled across the Welcome Back article on the website tonight. It seems like it would be a good idea to place a banner or notice on the old forum page pointing to either the new forums or to the Welcome Back article at least.
The old forum is locked down, so it can’t be modified. We announced the new FSM Forum in multiple emails and across our social media and on the website. I’m sorry that you didn’t get an email about it, but we have sent to all of our active lists. It’s possible the email was scooped onto SPAM or went to an email that you might not use anymore.
But the article on the website did what it was supposed to do and got you here. Welcome back!
Thank you Tim Kidwell
