I’m using MM enamels and a Tamiya HG Spray-work SP airbrush. I clean the tip and after a few sprays it spits again. I even thin the mix down a little. Still?
When was the last time you did a really thorough tear down cleaning and checked the seals?
Well I did a thorough cleaning before I used it but I didn’t check the seals. I using lacquer thinner, maybe the seals weren’t solvent proof?
if they are teflon you’re okay if not might need to replace them
Thank you!
Bill
Even if they ARE teflon, they may need replacing. I have to replace the ones in my badger frequently, but they are not that expensive. Better hobby shops have them, but they are also easy to mail order.
My first thought would be insufficient thinning of your paint. How thin are you mixing your paint and what air pressure are you using?
My next thought would be possibly a bent tip or a burr on the tip of your needle.
is it possible that condensation is coming through your brush from the air compressor?
I’m still a novice, so I thin it until it runs like milk on the side of the cup. The tip looks and feels good, I handle it with kid gloves.
My compressor has a moisture trap, but when I switched to my Paasche it didn’t spit.
