Not always, we’ve had calls from scammers to my work on the recorded lines. Sometimes it takes awhile for the idea to sink in that they are actually talking to law enforcement.
Sometime I answer: “Cook County Morgue. Why are you calling this private number. This number is only for family members calling their dead relatives. Give me your name and I’ll check what box you’re in”. They hang up.
