Was digging through my boxes and boxes of unbuilt stuff and found the old 1/48th scale Testors Stingbat Stealth helicopter. I never finished that one, nice looking futuristic helicopter with no tail rotor, curved blades, yellow tinted canopies that open upwards “jet style”.
Got to love Testors, they put out some cool stuff like the F-19 Stealth fighter, MiG-37 Ferret, SR-75 Penetrator and drone fighter, and don’t forget those clear plastic UFOs.
Yes … all of those kits were “cool” … I miss those days …

I have a few of the 48th MiG-37’s and am planning on building at least one, as well as the SR-75. Also have the F-19 in 48th, 72nd and 144th and would like to do them all someday. Someday… [:p]

Nice Italeri box art. Mine is in the Testors box with a photo of the completed model (same as my Ferret and F-19). You ever run across the Model Technology 1/48 scale F-19 PE set? They are nice and add a little something to that futuristic bird. Besides, everyone knows that a production model F-19 can’t be built without it. Only the original prototype 
Just ran across a Stingbat at a local shop for about 10 bucks US (1,200 yen here). After reading this post I just may get it!
Also found several of the Mig-37s. Was that the “Ferret E?”
Testors’ version of the stealth fighter was the basis for the old Commodore 64 game “Stealth Fighter,” IIRC. Pretty cool at the time!

somewhere in one of my boxes I have the 1/48 and the 1/72 scale kiys of the F-19 kit…ages ago a model shop i was at had the model technology PE sets in both scales for dirt on the dollar so i was lucky and got both. I finally just got ahold of the stingbat ive been trying to get ahold of forever,but the windsheild was pretty discolored beyond the tinting i assume and warped,so Im just gonna form a new one.
I understand that the stingbat lhx concept was supposedly the forerunner design to what would eventually become the RAH 66 Commanche,so with that in mind,it’ll be a great additon to the shelf next to the RAH model.

Had and build the kit.
Never had one, always wanted one. It would make a cool looking Bat-Copter! I have the Testors MV-22 prototypes(2). One is a superdetail WIP in BFWS configuration, #3914. The other I want to depict as #1 in white with American flag on tail. I need yellow rescue arrows and window striping to finish. #3914 needs black rescue arrows and Bell Boeing for fuselage. Any suggestions? Dane
