NEone know where I could find a kit of that American 76 mm AT gun from WW2?? ive got a dio in mind for the future. it would be in 1/35 scale. so can you help?
What chassis is it based on?
Do you mean an artillery piece or towed ordinance? Neat. Do tell so that we can help you.
i mean a towed piece. i recently came across several interesting pics of these weapons in the battle of the bulge. the word somber comes to mind in them, and i thought of an idea for a dio expressing this mood. if you’d like to hear id be glad to explain it.
NEway, it looked like an interesting piece, with large sheet armor angled in front, a rather long and unmuzzled gun to it, and its just a large and rather high profile gun considering it was an AT weapon. compared to german AT guns, it looks kinda high to me.
i never new there was an american 76mm AT gun. does it look like the british 17 pounder(76.2mm) gun?
OK, i checked up on things. apparently it wasn’t a 76mm AT gun. it was the 3-inch M5. pretty cool. the US did try out a 76mm towed gun version, but as far as i can see, it never saw action.
OK, now that thats cleared up, does NEone know where I can get a 1/35 3-inch M5 AT gun??
I know this one. Italeri produces the M101 102mm howitzer, kit #319. Then you need the Warriors US M-6 3" Gun Conversion, #MW 014. The main parts of the conversion are the photo etched gun shield and resin gun tube.
Revell also reboxes an updated M101 howitzer as kit #03014 that you can use with the conversion as well.
