Who builds the best F-14

Hi guys. I was interested in building an F-14 in 1/72 scale. Any version. Just wanted to know what the best kits is out there now. Pleeease No Raised Panel Lines. Im done with recribing.

Thanks Trevor M

go for the hasegawa F-14’s if price is no object. if it is an issue, i would say that the academy ones are extremely good value.

The Hasegawa kit is the best IMHO.

'Tis a toss-up between the Hasegawa and Fujimi kits in 72nd. Overall I preferred the Fujimi kit, but it may be harder to find these days. I’d say go for the Hasegawa…

Fade to Black…

Thanks Guys. Hasegawa it is. On to the hobby store I go.

No not Hasegawa!!!

Buy the Revell kit, really good: nice cockpit, good seats, engraved lines, correct shape, correct weapons and an extra ECM pod.
Low-vis version or high vis version…

AND DON’T FORGET: very nice price : 14.99 euro’s ( 1 dollar=1.3 euro)

Regards,

Jürgen

To late. I just bought the Hasegawa kit and I think its awsome. The Revelle kit must be absolutly superb by your appinion then. Ohwhell. I didnt mind spending the $34.00 Can. for what appears to be a fantastic kit.

Hasegawa 1/72 has 2 versions of F-14, the better one is with engraved lines, photo-etch parts, can choose flap down etc… more expensive.

Oh, well the Hasegawa one is also OK I guess…
Haven’t maid that one yet so my opinion was that the Revell one is very good.

Cheers,

Jürgen

Who builds the best F-14? Well… ME! LOL

Yea, make sure you´ve got the latter Hasegawa kit, it´s great.

Yup I bought the good one. When I bought it I opened it right on the counter, exspecting to have to order resin and P/E with it, but what I saw was great,so i left with just the model. Whell worth the money.

Hasegawa also makes a very nice 1/48 F-14.

For 1/32, tamiya’s F-14 is excellent!

My personal preference in F-14s are the ones built by a small, obscure manufacturing plant in Bethpage, Long Island, NY, called “The Grumman Iron Works.”

They are very nice, but at 1:1 scale they take up a lot of shelf space. They are also a little pricey. Would put a dent in most modelers’ budget. [:D]

I donno…I built 2!! If someone could tell me how to post pictures, I’d show ya!

Yardbird78: I knew someone was going to make that coment.lol

Hey Sarge, Do a search for “posting Pictures” I think that will take you to the right place.

i beg to differ ! the 1/48 F-14s build into excellent impressive and accurate models, but you better get yourself a new tube of putty before starting on one !

while we are on the subject, check out the F-14 GB [:D]

Hey, now that the Navy is retiring all the T-cats, maybe someone could pick one up for a decent yard sale price. 'Course the JP-8 required to fly it from DM to your home might put a severe crimp in the $$$$. No problem with shelf space. Use the wing as a shelf for your other models! [:p] [:p] [:p]
