While I was waiting for paint to dry Part 2

Last time I was doing something and had to periodically pause during the painting process, I pulled a shelf queen down and did some re-painting. I had the paint out and was in the mood, so why not. Well, while I’ve been finishing up my Sherman what-if, I did the same thing again, this time with a couple that had been done a number of years ago. One was a Tamiya Churchill that I had found a KK Castings AVRE turret for, and scratched the hull-side fittings. I unknowingly left the orig. Tamiya glacis alone, so it’s not correct but looks the part. The other was a Tamiya Cromwell, built OOB back when the kit was first released. I went to move it from its spot in my display case and the tracks stuck to the glass shelf and came apart. Horrors. So last year I picked up a set of Friuls with the intention of doing a full re-paint. Upon looking at it, I decided a strip and paint wasn’t necessary, just some up to date weathering and better markings. A couple of broken pieces are still to be fixed, but it’s ready for crew, as is the Churchill.

This was a nice exercise for me, the fun of weathering without worrying about messing up a fresh build of an expensive kit. So, a couple of pics:

Hi RB[:)]…The Cromwell and Churchill look mighty nice after the face lift. 2 tanks we don’t really see to often and I like them both… their design is so unique. I also like your Super Duper Sherman… It is really unique !

nice work on all 3 of them[Y]

Thanks! The Cromwell is a nifty looking little tank, one of my favorites, and the Tamiya kit is a gem. Also, I wouldn’t mind picking up the AFVC Churchill AVRE and doing it right, but that’s well down the road.
