Which manufacturer and which particular kit has the aircraft carrier model that has the most 3rd party upgrade parts available? (ie: P/E sets and accessories)
And for people that has actually built them, what is your thoughts about the end results?
Thanks.
Id like to know that myself. Ive heard so much good about Tamiyas enterprise, which I one day hope to get . I recently bought Trumpeters 350 USS Arizona, which I still need the p/e sets for, but so far the kit looks great. Im going to start on it in about a month. Anyone else planning on doing this? Maybe we can start a group build? It will be my first ship in almost 10 years!
Wyman,
Most, if not all of the 1/350 kits have multiple aftermarket kits for them in one way or another, be it aircraft, railings, antennas, or whatever you’d need to modify it. The best thing to do is to find a kit subject that you are interested in, such as the Arizona, Hornet, or soon to be released Nimitz, and look at Gold Medal Models or Tom’s Modelworks for available update kits. They are 2 of the best in the business. As far as actual numbers go, the Trumpeter Hornet probable has the most aftermarket accy’s, due to it’s popularity right now.

I have Trumpeter’s Arizona on the waiting list as well. Maybe now that I finished my Kilo and a Mig15 tonight I’ll start on it. Got the Hornet in the line as well. Not sure what will come first though.
