A Daytona Coupe…man, I haven’t seen one of those in years…I remeber seeing one about 20 years ago, but for the life of me, can’t remember who made it. From memory, it was one of those odd scales, not 1/24 or 1/25.
Maybe someone else out there has a better memory than I do…
Cheers

Hi Kaalvin,
I’m not sure if this is what your looking for, but R&D unique has a Cobra Daytona Super coupe transkit… Here’s the link
http://www.rndunique.com/rnd_displayitem.cfm?pk=226
Hope this helps…[#welcome]
Hmmm…thats pretty interesting. I wonder what model it is based on?..it resembles the daytona…but there are some problems with the rear end. The styling of that car makes it, as far as the body style…great lines.
Thanks for that research though…I’m one step closer than I was…

Here’s the comparison:
Trans Kit: http://www.rndunique.com/rnd_displayitem.cfm?pk=226
Actual Daytona: http://www.fast-autos.net/shelby/daytona3.html
that caris based on the Monogram 427 Cobra…
Your Welcome…
Thats what this forum is all about…
Didn’t Gunze Sangyo make this kit as well? If I’m not mistaken it was one of their ‘high-tech’ kits with lots of white metal in it?? I also seem to think that it’s very rare and very expensive??
Murray
It is rare and expensive. As I understand it, the folks at Gunze started producing the kit without working out the licensing with Mr. Shelby. As they didn’t have the rights they needed, they stopped production and the kit’s never been reissued.
The do turn up on eBay from time to time, and go for more cash than I’m willing to part with.
