Where can i find modern Russian tank riders

Im looking for 1/35 soviet 1980’s infantry, I Just watched 9th company, and theres a few scenes where there ridng on top of the tanks and apcs and I want to depict that, Does anyone know where I could find these figures at

There are not many modern Soviet figures in 1/35 to begin with. Most that do exist are Spetznaz or VDV Desantniks (airborne/air assault). Motor Rifle Troops were done by Dragon (in cold weather uniforms), ICM (warm weather uniforms), and a very weak set by LO. There is also a Soviet- Afghan War engineer set by ICM that was reboxed with some VDV types by Tamiya.

Ugh, I would pick a subject with few figures lol, do you think itd be possible to use WWII tank riders and reshape them with modern russian gear?

Also, 9th company was actually an air borne/ air assault unit that was assigned to armor,

No, in the 80s the soviets completely revamped their uniforms. The WWII stuff looks nothing like what was worn in Afghanistan. The only thing close are the camo coveralls worn by recon troops are similar to those worn thru the end of the afghan war.

darn, Im going to try and search for some things, there were alot of cool poses I had in mind with troops sitting on top of a BTR or BMP

I have bought all the Soviet Cold War/Afghan War injection plastic 1/35 figure sets that I can find. There is only one infantry figure posed in all those sets that is seated on a vehicle. All the rest are dismounts.

So i probably need to make this like a patrol near the vehicle then

Dragon did a few Soviet-era figure sets.

The Soviet Motor Rifles set is probaly your best bet at what you are looking for.

VDV Air Assualt troops.

Soviet Naval Infantry (Marines).

Soviet Spetznaz

'80s Soviet tank crew.

ICM has lso done a few sets.

Soviet Special Troops (SPETZNAZ)

Afghan war Motorized Infantry at rest.

'80s Soviet Tank Crew that would work for vehicle crewmen too.

Zvezda does a more Modern Russian Tank Crew as well.

Tamiya Rebox of ICM figures.

Those should give you some options.

Hah, Gino, you beat me to it. I was gonna do the same thing.

There is also this set from Zvezda

The Tamiya set mixes the Spetznaz with this ICM Sapper set

Those guys are more post Soviet for Checnya. But there are some great looking Soviet/Afghan War resin figures there at that site. And made to go with a BTR.

I like those trymaster kits, where can I find them, those are kind of the poses I was looking for.

thanks for all the kit pics, seems like theres either a High demand for a certain era or there isn’t

who sells masterclub kits? or where is the best place to get them from.

how big of a gap is it between the late 80’s soviet gear and uniforms compared to the early 90’s stuff

The Russian website I had linked carries them - I’ve ordered from them a few times and had no problems. You can also try HobbyEasy.com

Those are perfect for a Chechnya scene. The Russians are developi9ng new combat uniforms and equipment, but I don’t think they are in distribution now… Thanks for the sites.

on a side note, do you guys ever have problems ordering from hong kong or china. I mean are you guys worried about getting some weird sickness, my dads kind of up tight when it comes to ordering from certain places, apparently influenza is his #1 fear. just wondering what your take is on all it
