I’m keeping an eye on eBay for this kit, and I remember from the Nats last year that some one still carries it - does anyone have any idea who?
Thanks in advance

I saw it and the Nostromo at the IPMS Seattle Show this past weekend - I don’t remember who had it, but I got their card. I’ll check tonight when I get home. IIRC, the drop ship was partially assembled and he was selling it cheap - the Nostromo was $35. --Jon
Halcyon discontinued it about three years ago. The escape pod will be rereleased soon. Aeoshima is going to release a die-cast version of the drop ship (about a foot long) and the APC to fit inside it( it comes with a marine) and it’s about six inches long. I havent seen the plastic kits in a long while, good luck in finding one.
Trigger, no idea where you can find one, it’s the new Holy Grail of kits it seems. I’d love to have one, along with another APC that I could attempt to make an interior for as well.
Good hunting!
“Alright, people, I want combat seating…pack 'em in!”
You might check out Federation Models and or Monsters in Motion. If you can, you could also attend Wonderfest. I usally see some there. Good luck, Rogue
Can’t help you find one, but I’ve been looking for years…and finally found one just last week at a local shop that carries old kits! Snapped it up in a heartbeat, too…for 2,500 yen. That’s about $21 USD. Needless to say, it was a very satisfying buy!
The moral of the story is to wait, and one is just liable to appear before your very eyes, very cheap!
Good luck!

Trigger, wouldn’t mind having one myself, will keep my eyes open, if I spot any I’ll let you know
Roger that John. And if I spot any, I’ll let you and Lem both know.
You were in luck. I doubt anything like that would happen to many others here in North America. So rare to find a LHS, nevermind one carrying older kits. These things tend to go for pretty high on eBay when they do come on. Alas, I have to keep waiting, hoping, for one.
Don’t forget garage sales and flea markets! There’s always a chance one will pop up somewhere. Not a great chance, of course, but a chance none the less.
Eh… let me just say this - trust me, there’s very little chance of finding a Drop Ship at a Flea Market around here.

Agreed, but very little chance is still a chance none the less, as I said. If you DON’T look, then there’s absolutely NO chance!
As has been mentioned, if you gotta have one NOW, eBay is probably the best (and most expensive) way.
Either way, good luck!
Absolutely no messin’ man just swapped one for the Aoshima diecast one two weeks ago.
But try this guy, he has everything, Cometminiatures. Just Google.

Terry.
Hi there,
I’ve got one I’m willing to sell for the right price. Still have the original box, instructions and all the pieces although the kit itself has been partially assembled and painted. Was going for an arctic version so painted with base coat, metallic blue and flat white - but if you’re an experienced modeler I’m sure this will be no problem for you to fix to your liking. Let me know if you’re interested and make me your best offer. Can take some pics also if neccessary, just have to borrow someone’s camera.

Just sent you an e-mail.
Ebay is the one place where I see them surface semi-regularly. That’s where I bought mine last October or November (2005) for $65.00.
Thanks. I’m aware of ebay and the problem with ebay right now is that there are some people who are buying them up not to build, but as investments to turn around and sell again for a profit, thus driving up the price within the market. I’ve built it once already when I was in college and as far as kits go in general, it’s not the best designed kit. It needs a lot of work, patience and TLC to get right (It ain’t a shake-n-bake kit). I’m willing to pay for it, but what some of these have gone for, one can go ahead and get the new 1:72 die-cast replica that looks great, save themselves the trouble of building it, and it even has moving “wings.”
seems one is available on evilbay. min. price not met yet. highest bid at $21.00
good luck
I got one on eBay back in Jan for $70 about including post to Ireland from a UK seller. A bit expensive, but well worth it. Had to cut out the belly and scratch build the interior APC bay. Have it built with legs and ramp down. Now I need to get one of the 1/72 scale APCs to complete it.
I also want a 1/35 scale APC…
…and a fine molds Falcon…
