So, I want to know, where are all the young modelers out there? I live in a small city in boring old ohio, but still, I only know 1 teenage modeler! So, where are you guys??? If you’re 19 or younger, let me know by posting here! Lets see how many of us there really are!!![:D]
I might be 25, but I’m refusing to pass 18.
of my children only one is old enough to post here. but they all show interest in modeling in some fashion. (aircraft and figurines)

My four year old boy makes 3D paper Tigers and can’t wait for his first glue together Tamiya. I told him his tenth birthday. He puts together Revell snap-tite planes himself, I wish I could find Armor snap. Believe it or not, he also handles an airbrush pretty well (with non-toxic badger colors) painting Volcanoes and the like.
There is a future group out there, not just what seems to be the norm here, like me…30+ and back after a long hiatus.
Well M1Abrams rules falls under this catgorey and I did till last Sataurday when I turned 20.
I’m 20. I’ve been actively modelling since I was about 13. I can relate to what you’re posting about. I live in Toronto, a very very large city, and I know precious few young modellers. I wish I did know a few, as building with someone would be amazing.
My little boy is six and has several kits under his belt.[;)]
I’m 15 and I started in August
I have a classmate who builds planes and another who does LOTR Warhammer
Oh my brother (12) wants to start, he’s getting his first kit Friday, and its a Tank [tup]
Right on! We need more younger modelers and I’m surprised to see so many in the forums. I believe Frosty falls in this catagorie as well as Nick. I think there is a Nathan also. M1(Chris) does.
I must post for my nephew (fsm name hickerson1) He is 13 but is in some big trouble at home so he’s grounded from the computer. lol He threw some fruit at a school bus and the campus cops got him. I laughed for hours.
My son is 12 and has completed two or three kits, but now seems to be losing interest as sports are taking over. I’m hoping he’ll return to the fold when winter returns next year, but I don’t want to force him.
My eldest is 7 and has built far more kits than me in the last 12 months.
Not that that would be difficult.
His little brother, 5, is also showing an interest, so you never know.

My youngest is 15 now but has been building stuff off and on now for four years. He has enrolled in Junior Air Force Reserve Officer Training which has a modelling club. They are supposed to build aircraft models so I’ll need to keep tabs on him so that he doesn’t get into a rut (that’s what armor is for). They also have model rocketry club and build SAMs (ha, ha, ha)
i’m 18 and have been modeling on/off for a bout 3 - 4 years, haven’t completed too many models, take months to pick a model and build it
I’m only 48 and I can buy my own glue!
it’s true 4 me, & my little bro’ (now 7 years old) has been doing a few projects too:
Panther (BUM kit, and aptly named… a soft plastic horror !)
Sherman (very simple Armourfast kit )
Sheridan (Airfix, pretty good except 4 rubber band trax)
(all tanks in 1/72)
F117 Stealth Fighter
A-10 Warthog
F-18 Hornet
(the wingy thingies r all 1/72 snaptite kits)
Apache helo (another 1/72 snaptite)
i have to help with some of the smaller bits sometimes…
but it is fun 4 both of us when we do a kit together ! [8D][8D][8D]

anyone here who doesn’t know my age??? [;)][;)][:D] yep, I’m 16, in grade 12. I started seriously modeling about 3 years ago. my little bro (5) wants to do models too, so I’ve helped him on a couple. I live in the middle of nowhere in a town of 700. but for living in a rural area I’ve got 2 LHS’s within 45 minutes of me.
Im 15, and in grade 10 and have been modeling for a few years now.
How are you in grade 12 and your 16 chris?
me: I is 15, smrt, and has 42 kits in the last 2 years.
michael:
one word: homeschool
I am one year ahead because when I started homeschooling in grade 3 the next 3 years I got one subject ahead until I was a full year ahead in everything.
