Hey i was just curious. What is everyone least favorite step in modeling from start to finish? The task that seems to take me the most time, and my least favorite has got to be seam filling. So whats yours?
Mine would probably be decals. Cos if you stuff up any other step it can be fixed, decals, if you stuff them up, takes a bit more time and effort to fix, also decals make or break a model alot of the time. Also i never know when to say “right, kits done, decal time”

Masking canopies.
I hate smoothing seams.

My least favorite step is when the painting commences. Having to wait between color and coats, not to mention having to clean the airbrush at each use.

Probably masking complex canopies.
Decals
Will they stay together or shatter
Will they go well or silver
landing gear & weapons.
Another vote on canopies. The new pre-cut masks make them a lot easier but they still really irritate me.
One of the things I really like about armour is not much in the way of transparent parts there.

Not being able to build OOB (out of box) Its the moment when I start adding a few scratch built details and realize a ‘quick build’ has turned into a quagmire of scratch built details of my own making.
The second worst moment is realizing most will not be seen or appreciated on the finished model![:O]
The best moment is finishing a model to my satisfaction knowing it would be impossible to recreate it in the exact same way. [H]

Seam-filling & sanding… All my models are for dioramas and get permanently attached to the base, so I skip a LOT of seam-work on the undersides…
