i bought a set of gmm decals and i’m finding these are the worst decals i’ve ever tried to apply in my life.these things suck at the best.it might just be that i got a set that has been sitting on the shelf for um 30 yrs or something but every one i try to apply is just falling to peices(not to mention they are only two neutrons apart).i’ve done alot of models in my life so far and have never come across anything this bad before.but to give gmm a chance i just tried and haven’t contacted them yet so they hopefully will repace them, but as of now i’m not happy at all. has anyone else had problems like this before with their decals? if so please let me know so i can converse with you on how to take action.
I’m sure he will replace them. They are not known for decals. Their P/E is quite exceptional and so is their service. He has an outstanding reputation.
You may try making your own decals on a computer printer and decal paper, if the said decal is not too complicated.
I had the same problems with their airwing decals on the 2 occasions I was using them. They do tend to break apart at the wrong moment but with a little patience I was able to work around it. Don’t know if it’s from age or how I was applying them but I suspect it was the sheet. I do give high marks for their PE sets. What with all the new 1/350 carriers coming onto the market, maybe we will see more companies coming out with new decal sheets?

GMM are a first-class outfit. Let them know about the problem and I’m sure they’ll work with you.

I have used GMM PE products and decals for a number of years and have never had a problem with either. While I agree that the decal sheets are closely spaced, patience and a deliberate pace have always yielded good results for me.
Loren Perry of GMM is a standup guy. Let him know what your problem is and I’m sure he’ll do everything he can to make it right.
Any time I ever had the slightest question about a GMM product and emailed them Loren ALWAYS personally responded within a day. Customer service is definitely a priority with him, email him with your problem and I’m sure he will help you.
Coincidentally I just placed an order for the international flag decal set from him today. (as well as a few brass sets) I’ve never ordered decals from him before, I hope they’re all right.
i want to apologize in way for going off.i was pretty upset when i posted the thread and after calming down i sent them a email and hope to hear back from them.i was just so [censored]mad after wanting to complete the deck and the decals sucked that i kind of lost it.but i’m serious about the spacing on these things you almost have to have a micron microscope to cut them out!!!
Well, a microscope and a pair of Squizzers from Micromark. One of the best tools I’ve ever bought.
