i use acrylics almost all the time , and every now and then i need to use liquid mask. the humbrol maskol i usually use discolors the paint underneath, does anyone have a good suggestion what i can use ? ambroids liquidmask isnt available, i was thinking of diluted white glue, but will that be easy to take off ?
I use a product by Daler and Rowney called “Art Masking Fluid” for water colours. This was the first product I bought for masking so I don’t know how it compares to others, but it works well for me. I have seen it at most art supply stores. HTH.
so it’ll work with acrylics right ?
Yes, I use it with acrylics (Tamiya, Polly Scale and Model Master Acrylics) and haven’t had any problems.
reggie,
Diluted white glue would probably work for you but it might take some work to remove it. I sometimes use it to seal around canopies and then use a wet q-tip to rub off the excess. However, this sometimes rubs the paint off if it is very thin (perhaps another way to weather???)
