What size hypodermic needle?

hey guys, i’m interested in using the hypodermic needle for the .50 cal machine guns on the P-51D. what size needle would you say be the closest to scale? thanks. later.

Chris,

A .50 cal diameter barrel would be .0104" ID in 1/48 scale which would be close to the heavy-wall version of SmallParts.com’s 22 gauge hypodermic tubing.
If you are building in 1/72 scale then you would need the standard wall thickness 29 gauge which is .007" ID.

thanks mike, i knew you had mentioned it in an earlier post but i couldn’t for the life of me think of where!! i bought a .6mm hypodermic needle and it has a gauge but i’ll have to look and see. later.
