Bloody funny cobber.
Ok. So this is about other hobbies, then I won’t mention gardening, or cooking. Cos they just have to be done, even if I enjoy them. I have an old 30ft wooden boat. Takes lots of work and money, but when I’m pushing her around the lakes, I feel like a king. Collecting militaria. I have an extensive collection of militaria and reference books. Drinking cider. I’m very fond of that.
I think that gardening can be considered a hobby. We have about 2,000 SF of flower beds. Taking care of them is almost a full time job in Summer. Not a lot of time left for modeling.

Beautiful gardens there. I have to admit, modeling is my second hobby but I enjoy it very much. I’m lucky that I have a workbench that I can leave everything out and work on something a little at a time when I get a few minutes. I usually get longer bench time in the winter months. My other hobbies include fishing for bass (my primary) and playing trombone and euphonium. I’m also a member of the Living History Crew aboard the USS Alabama BB-60 so WW II reenacting is another hobby of mine.
oh c’mon man!! You took pictures of the Disney World gardens!! [:D]
Wow JK you have a green thumb, gorgeous landscape indeed! [B]
My other hobby has some how become collecting original WWI items mainly photos and postcards for now. Modeling seems to be the cheaper of the two hobbies.
Wow, my lawn sucks compared to that! Beautiful work there!
I barely make time for models, so unfortunately I have no other hobbies.
I used to snorkel and scuba dive, but none of my friends go to the beach anymore after all their kids grew up. I tried boogie boarding but almost drowned at Sandy Beach (not a place for a noob, especially when there are signs posted that read “Danger - Shore Break”). I tried jet boarding and found out I sucked at it. I have lousy balance and was too out of shape to maintain body position.
A friend who does extreme rock climbing took me along for some “easy” hikes, some of which were knife edge trails with thrilling 300+ foot drops on either side, with mud and rain to add to the excitement. So yeah, I’m not a sporty kind of guy.
I do like watching sci-fi movies and anime (hardware shows only, no Bleach or Naruto), but those tie into modeling.
I wouldn’t call it a hobby…more of a religion form, I LOVE NASCAR, don’t bother me on a Sunday while those colorful high horsepwer machines are making left hand turns. Is my redneck showing?[:$] I also enjoy target shooting, in process of obtaining firearms to suit that need. I also really enjoy Sci-Fi books about future space navies and marines, very picky about that. Of course chasing models to abait the stash monster is alot of fun. Hate that bugger LOL.
I enjoy watching racing. That NASCAR COTA race a couple weeks ago was the most nerve racking race!
Flying RC planes is my other main hobby.
Also enjoy camping and fishing occasionally.
Drums01, you and I have very similar interests. I retired (early) last year to care for my 22 year old son with special needs due to the Covid virus. Up to Covid we also enjoyed working out at the local YMCA,but now we work out in our home gym. I’ve built diecast models with him, since there’s less finicky parts. Finally, I have a Kawaski Voygeur 1200 that I’ve always wanted to mount a sidecar to so I could take my son for rides. When I retired, the “older” guys in my local model club told me that as long as I had a passion(modeling) to get up for and to enjoy each day, I’d do alright in retirement.
I agree keavdog, COTA was an interesting race. Hendrick MotorSports seems to have found the magic potion this year…bummer I’m a Stewart Haas fan, well all the Fords. RESPECT Kyle Bush, he is an amazing driver, but I can’t stand Kyle Bush LOL.
Looks like Larson has found a home for the next few years, if he keeps his trap shut.
As a side note on him, a few years ago, my bosses son was on an invitation only cart race. He ended up finishing 3rd, behind the national cart champion and Larson.
Bosses kid holds every track time record at our 1/3 mile dirt track. He might make it to cup in a few years.
I think Larson only knows how to go fast, IMO he needs more experience. A member of my model club bumped into Joey Lagono the night before the Atlanta race this year, in North Spokane…Washington state… Unfortunately he didn’t have time to call me to meet him.
Reading history books, biographys etc. Lots of books I find here in Canada were not available in ex Yugoslavia, so I am cathcing up.
Running and cyclening, when I have time, which is not often. But at least I can ride to work.

Nice! I have a '92 Metro that I’ve been slowly upgrading. It’s no GTI, but I have some parts to swap out.
I’ve got a custom set of racing headers and the spindles/Brakes from a GTI to install. I only have the 1.0L engine to work with, but I’ve tuned it for fun. She handles like a dream with what I’ve put into her, but I still need sway bars and new shocks and struts.
Some day I’ll have her completed, but she still won’t be a GTI.
My other hobby is collecting Transformers. After all of these years it still calls to me of simpler times and fond memories.
Well!
That’s some inspiring Photography there. I like your use of shadows for some of the pics and space on others.
WOW killer pictures [Y]
HiFi Audio, Records, Baseball Cards, Woodwork.
And not enough time to do any of them [:)]
Had to decide which thread to put this in, ‘other hobbies’ or ‘what did you see today’
Either way, here it is.

Dang, I wonder if I can make any money doing this?
