That’s not a poll. That’s a fragment.[:)]
Go back and edit it so someone besides you will know what you’re talking about. Think about it, that’s like saying…
POLL: Black- or -White ???
Eric
It depends on the subject. Can you get a Tamiya 1/48 scale F-86D? How about a 1/48 scale F-8E?
Your kidding right? This is like comparing Timex to Rolex. Tamiya is far superior in quality, fit and accuracy.
changed poll
Without a doubt Humbrol rules, you can get air brush like quality out of the can! and for airbrushing Tamiya rocks!
Happy coloring

ModelMaster, Humbrol, and Testor’s Enamels. I’ve only used Floquil once
but, I liked it, too.

Humbrol. Number one without a doubt. bUt I have numerous uses for many other type of paints…
I airbrush exclusively with Model Master Acryl and prefer brushing with Humbrol Enamels. Unless I’m seeing things, how did Monogram or Tamiya get in this post? [:0]

Could anyone please tell me what poll this is?
I use Humbrol. I tried acrylics and to be honest, I found them to be more expensive, they did’nt last as long as my Humbrol tins and the finish was’nt as good. That’s just my opinion folks. I just prefer enamels-that’s all.
Well it all depends on what you’re painting.
For most of my model painting I prefer Humbrol. BUT…Testors Gold is about the best .
For figure models I use artists quality oils.
Model Master are a bit hard to find in my area.
I dont like acrylics. And thats that.
Dai.
Humbrol enamels. I’m trying out Tamiya acrylics for some applications, but as much as I like the ease of cleaning and lack of heady fumes, they don’t seem robust enough for my ham-fisted painting techniques [:D]
I like enamels, but occasionally I use Metallizers, which are lacquers. The poll doesn’t take multiple uses into account…This is not a very good poll.

For years I used Pactra and Humbrol - Then Humbrol had its fire (???) and supposedly lost the formulas for its paint and no longer list their paints by name (eg RLM 70 black green) and Pactra went away. Now I use Model Master primarly with some of the new Humbrol colors and am going to try some Floquil RR paints on my next project .
Xtracolour is my favourite, just because it seems to have the widest range of accurate colours available
that reminds me - they briefly produced FS18913 fuorescent red-orange, a fantastic colour the US Navy used a lot in the 50s and 60s, but I can’t find it any more - anybody know of a good alternative or a good mix for this colour?
Acrylics Rule!! Theyre easy clean up, and fast drying. My favs are Tamiya, they dont have those giant particles that clog up the airbrush. And as for the new poll, Tamiya is way better than Monogram, but I sure wish they would make more big 48 scale heavy bombers…
I only use enamels–Model Master and Floquil (before they went out of the military line). Years ago there was an article in FSM about thinning and preparing Floquil for airbrushing. I follow its guidelines now with Model Master and it works great–even for natural metal finishes.
