What is this? Japanese Tilt-Rotor???

Is this a Japanese Tilt Rotor or just a toy? I saw this on e-bay that it is an F-toy 1/144th scale helicopter kit called Sea Bird. I couldn’t find any additional information on it so I thought I would ask to see if anyone had any information on it. I think it looks pretty cool anyways.

It’s a) a toy and b) a tiltwing.

“this is from a SF story” according to the description.

It looks nice!

Fuselage looks like a modified Apache - Mix a 1/48 AH-64 kit with some 1/72 Osprey parts and you’re on the road to something like this.

This aircraft is from a Japanese animated show called “Zipang,” about a futuristic JMSDF group that goes back to WWII in a sci-fi timeslip.

This tiltwing is called Umidori. (Sea Bird in Japanese)
Here’s pic from the show:

Funky link, but you can see most of it.

Have a poke around this site for more images from the show:

A Japanese version of The Final Countdown? Do the Umidori chase around Corsairs?

Yup, the premise is pretty much Final Countdown.

I’ve only seen a bit of it on TV, but the bits I’ve seen just show the crew standing around on the bridge of their Aegis frigate debating about what they should do.
