Please help me, ¿What is the best airbrush Iwata for modeling? I construct airplanes in 1/72 scale.

I have never used an iwata. From all the posts here though it seems that for modeling you want to go with anything in the revolution series. Airbrushing to me is all about techniques, tricks and practice (and reading this forum [:D]). You need a decent airbrush thats all. I’ve seen people accomplish great feats of painting with rattle cans. If you get too stressed about choosing “the right” airbrush you’ll never get any modeling done [:o)][:D] Just choose a weapon and start shooting.

I have a Iwata revolution HP-CR and for me being a newbie to airbrushes, I think that it is a totally easy and fun learning experience with it. Bryan

I have an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS. I am also an “airbrush newbie” and it is my first airbrush. The HP-CS works very well is fairly easy to use and clean and appears to be fairly well made. You can get fairly fine lines, but it is also good for larger areas.

However, based on my time on the forum, it looks like there are a number of good airbrushes out there and “which one is best” primarily comes down to personal preference.

I have an HP-BCS I use for general spraying, a CM-B I use for smaller jobs or quick sprays, and a Micron CM-C+ I use for hardcore detail work like camo schemes, stripes, spots, etc…

In my past, I’ve owned a Paasche F1 and H, an Aztec, and a Badger 150. The 150 was my everyday brush until I got the HP-BCS. Since then, I use nothing but Iwata. They clean easily, they spray very well, and the HP-BCS is affordable, about the same cost as a 150. The others, be warned, are expensive brushes, especially the CM-C+. But I’ve become a dedicated Iwata customer. You get what you pay for IMO. It’s not that any of the others are bad, it’s just that the Iwatas are better in my experience.

For the average-Joe modeler, the HP-BCS is the way to go.

I have a HP-CS and I love the thing. It is an easy bush to use and clean and you can get thin lines with it. I have gotten lines as thin as a thin sharpy pen marker.

IMO the HP-CS or the HP-BCS is the way to go.

I have an Iwata HP-CR and a HP-CS. i have used them both for 1//35 armour and am finishing up some 1/72 aircraft as well. If you plan to spray fine lines, I recommend either of these since they are both gravity-feed ABs.
I used to use Paasche Millenium but after using the Iwatas I have not looked back. As Jeff mentioned above, the Iwatas are great quality and are well woth the money in my opinion. you can get pretty fine lines with them as well as good overall coverage.
