I was reading a review on another site about a F4F. The builder used cowl flaps by a company he refered to as KMC. Who are these people? I would like some of those cowl flaps. Or if you have another recomendation…
Thanks in advance.

Kendall Model Company. Sadly, they’re gone now. No idea on alternatives.

Yes KMC is sadly gone. Alot of the old KMC line has been released by true details ( squadron shop) and by Cutting edge (Meteor productions). Some of their original sets appear on ebay from time to time(so I’m told)[soapbox]. Some hobby shops still have a stock of their items, look for large shops with lots of aftermarket items and don’t be affraid to ask. I know the shop I frequent (an hour away) still has quite a stock of KMC. But as a detail nut job[:P] I know those are not in his stock.Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info guys. I’d like to have a set of those cowl flaps but I may have to make my own. Those radial engined planes don’t look right to me if the flaps are closed.
Some of KMC’s cockpits are being sold under True Details banner as with other items, maybe in the near future TD will be selling all of KMC’s OOP items
As noted, KMC went OOB several years ago. Some are still available under the True Details label. Also, I believe one of the original owners of KMC is still producing under the Black Box label.
