Don’t want to seem ungrateful, because Ron’s generous hosting of pics is much appreciated, but there have been some problems lately with pics suddenly disappearing. I know he has to clean house eventually, and moving them from the upload holding pages to the gallery pages isn’t a real big deal because I can edit posts for the new URL’S. But I’ve had two recent uploads that were apparently deleted, and the posts they were in were still on page 1 of these Forums [V]. Have his rules changed? Has anyone else experienced this lately?
I had the same experience. I’ve had to upload pics of my Me 262 Mistel three times, and pics of my Rufe cockpit were deleted within a couple of hours after I uploaded them. He asked for help, as the “Upload Here” gallery was choking with pics. Perhaps someone was trying to reduce the amount of aircraft pics. Who knows?
Pix, sorry you had the same problem, but glad it wasn’t just me. One of the deleted pics was of a figure and there doesn’t seem to be any Gallery for figures. Or Ships, SciFI,Autos. Are these pics just arbitrarily being dumped? If the volunteers helping Ron see this post, please give the pics more than a couple of days before you move/delete them. Ron provides a great free service to those of us who don’t have our own websites, but it aint fun having to upload again to avoid the red X on very recent posts. Thanks.
i dont like the way you cant deleat the photos you post yourself, it was suppose to be for a little while but its been like that for ages
Let me amend my last post. There are galleries on Ron’s Site for Figures, etal. I just never got past the first page [:I]. I found my missing Figure pic and have edited the post in question[:)]. Still, one of my Me262A pics, which is in an active post, has been deleted [:(]. Granted I had 4 views of the same model but I thought the rule was no more than 6 of any subject. I agree with Jon, I tried to delete one of my own images a while back so I could replace it with a better pic and not clutter up Ron’s site but could not. I would really like to hear from anyone actively involved as to why pics are being moved or deleted so quickly.
