what i can do with this hornet?

i stopped to built this kit about 10 years ago, as lots of kits that i have in my stash, but unfortunately respect to others this was about 99% finished, and i disagree the finish i did at the time.

[View:/themes/fsm/utility/DSC_2351:550:0]

kit is the raised panels italeri 1/72… the cockpit was just scratched and i have aftermarket ejection seats stealed from another same kit but finished in two seats version (actually broken with oldest of my kits)

what you think to do in the same situation? finish him or kill him?

Maybe you might like to buy a new 1/72 Hornet with recessed lines and when it’s done compare the old with the new. My [2cnts]

KILL HIM!!! [N] I dont like 1/72 scale...mainly cause I can`t see it anymore…lol…[H] [8-|]

… [:^)] if i kill it for the scale i need to kill 99% of my builded models/stash … [H]

Finish it. Maybe I have low standards, but it looks good to me. Maybe not put a lot more time into it, but go ahead and finish it. Beats me how people achieve the level of detail that I’m seeing on 1/72nd scale kits.

Just kidding! I have quite a few 1/72 kits but most are the large ones…B-52, B-36 etc. You did a heck of a job detailing that tiny cockpit and would be a waste to destroy it. Maybe you could use it in a diorama or something?

I build mostly 1/48 and am not kidding about my eye sight…going to have to start moving up to 1/32 if my peepers get any worse! Never had to use my lighted magnifier until recently…using it all the time now…anyone see my guide dog?

i’ll take some pictures before to complete ( i decided), major bad things are on the rest of plane unseen in the pictures, and canopy… was glued with CA [:'(]

haha need new glasses [8o|] , naturally kill, don’t want to intend that i’ll break the f-18, just in this leave again stored in a box,

actually i have already the other double seat version destroyed (or ruined) and another (even another copy of the same kit , totally of three…) that a my friend gifted to me , but already started and useless to complete, for a possible diorama.

If you like large planes take a look here [H] , but the same plane in 1/32 i think need a little garage to show it

Now it’s time to go in the house basement and resolve the hornet (and another ton of others kits [:'(] )

If you have a canopy with CA fogging, Ive heard Future (pledge with future shine or Klear, whichever you call it) can help improve the clarity.

the problem is inside, i’ll try to take out the piece, but i don’t use future, (never seen in local stores) i prefere to sand and use clear from humbrol … “combat hornet’s SAR” is beginned!!

…and found even another old freezed model …italeri… eb-66c (or e) vietnam camouflage, frtunately on it only the primer was used

heres the real situation:

pictures show that i had forgot… tried at the time to simulate differents panels color… fail, used too old matt clear and after dry become yellow, and in those years i was able to stratch even mirrors (but using CA glue),

Troublemaker66 i think now have me too “technical difficulties” with my eyes to do again these things (i wa about 18 Yo now i’m near 35)

I tried evenly to save the hornet:

separated the front glass to resolve the fogging i do some little break at the glass base, but irrecoverable things…

but after i sanded the glass with sandpaper i did a begginer fault! [whstl] … used a thinner to do a shortcut on works and

glass was lost … [:XX]

thing make me feel like i’ll use the others hornet to steal pieces [^o)]

that other guy will hope less problematic to finish

at the next trial [bnghead]

i can only afford 1:72 because the cheapest one i can find at my LHS in 1:48 is $32 each a6m2 zero and 1:72 around $10 each
