what glue you like to use for indy tracks?

well its time to pick your brains on what type of glue you like to use on indy tracks? right now i am using testors luqid plastic cement. is thier any other type of glue to use for indy tracks. my indy trakc are comeing along nice and slow . but boy these have been a real test for me.[:D][:D]

what the heck are indy tracks!!! … rubber tracks?

I use the standard Tamiya Glue.

one pice tracks, its all most like nitting nit one pearl 4 i think that how it goes in nitting[:D][:D]

individual track links … common with DML kits and aftermarket products.

Ga-modeler - you want a glue that gives a little more drying time … best to stay away from CA

I like using Testor’s liquid cement; it gives me some time to adjust the tracks while assembling them.

Regards, Dan

I’m with MMF. I used Tamiya standard styrene cement for the indy tracks on my DML panther. Plenty of time to do the top and bottom runs and then fit them to the vehicle and adjust. Leave overnight and they are as solid as a rock (not that I have been anything but gentle with them, just in case).

O.K. now I know what I have been gluing one thing at a time.
Just why indy? indy-race cars?

I use Testor’s liquid cement!

Glenn

Indy = INDYvidual

Indy tracks are links, each of which has Harrison Ford’s face on it. [:p]

Oh, Larry, You kill me!! lol

I use Tamiya extra thin (green cap) cement. But I don’t do a whole run at a time. I glue them up into lengths and put them together like link and length tracks.

I use the Tamiya liquid cement as well. If you let it set for 30 mins or so, the links are “together” but still flexible enough to be shaped around an idler/sprocket.

hi, i use for everything ca(crazy)clue or what you guys call it , is there any other gleu?? hey i’m a quickey [(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D] maffen is my name, silly is my game[:D]

I use the standard tamiya liquid cement. I have a couple of jars of testors liquid cement, but I’ve never used them for anything, so I can’t comment on that. Anyone know the difference?

Testors cement is relatively slow in setting up compared to glues like Tamiya’s Extra Thin or Tenex.

Bill

crap. It looked thinner in consistency compared to the tamiya one, so I thought it’d set faster. That’s why I picked it up in the first place
Ah well, guess I’ll have to use it up eventually anyways

I just use the tamiya stuff for all of my models.

I use the old standby: Testors orange tube glue for all my construction, except where liquid cement or CA would work better. [:I][;)] It works really well on my 1/72 scale Armor indy tracks! [:o)]

On my last Tamiya Tiger Mid Production project I used the 'ol favorite the orange Testor tube glue… you know the stringy stuff… just enough hold so that the whole track is maleable during construction but sets nice and slow… and rock solid…MARVELOUS  I only use this stuff for individual tracks… for everything else I actually use Citadel Super Glue from my Warhammer days. This stuff glues anything to anything. I you want it to dry fast, apply a small amount, if you want more time setting a piece, put more glue on.
