What do you think of this Tiger I paint scheme????

Here is a concept sketch I did for a “wild” paint scheme I have in mind for a Tiger I mid-production:

What do you think, it could’ve/might’ve happened huh?..

Would you make it hard-egded like the picture? Personally, I would like to at least see the same scheme with some softer lines. The colors look good though.

The colors are right.I would say that makes it possible.

I like it… [tup][tup]

Good question…I’d probably hard edge the red-brown and soft edge the green…I’ll do some mock-ups first of a couple/few variations and see which one looks best.

Looks good to me, i think i remember seeing a Panther painted like that.

That’s cool. I’ve seen some stange renditions before, so anythings possible.

I’d say soft for the green and tan, hard for the brown. The brown are trees I suspect, tan and green foilage. If someone saw blocky green and tan it might be a giveaway.

Sorry a bit undecided here. Don’t think it would suit my personal taste, but thats just me.

This looks more like a reich '46 scenario.

Disastermaster

the only prob i have with it are the wheels. I’d make those a solid color.

Other than that, Way cool stuff there SMJ. I love when modlers get over the obsessive historical accuracy thing (not that it’s a bad thing) and use plastic tanks as a medium for paint!

Go for it!

[#ditto]…it’s a nice sketch though…guess I’m just a purist when it comes to Tigers?

I’m wondering though–would the brown lines be painted with demarcation outlines as you have it depcted there?

A bit complicated, but I’ve seen stranger schemes.

The only problem with a Tiger with a hypothetical paint scheme is that it would belong to a hypothetical unit. I wouldn’t advise any divisional markings on it.

While these photos somewhat confirm that practically anything goes, it’s best to work from an actual photo, that way no one can say you are wrong…at least not completely. [;)]

No. Actually I want to post shade like you did on that huge German tank that started with the primer color…I forget the name. I was going to start a post asking you for a couple early pic’s you had while painting. Can you throw a few at me as an example of how to get that look? Thanks doog!

Guys: Thanks for the input, somewhat mixed opinions from you guys but the general concensus seems to be that it’s “possible”. The kit is a Tamiya Mid-Production and I scored it for $13 so I think it’s worth trying…I may not get to it or a bit but I’ll post pic’s when I do…Thanks Again!
