What I did today was wished I had purchased the Revell or Airfix Artemis kit instead of the AMT/Round 2 version. While the kit itself is more or less fine, it is ABSOLUTELY let down by the awful decals that were 3x too thick to conform to any surface, even with judicious use of decal fluids. And when I left them overnight, the bits that did stick became permanently stuck when I decided to remove them. I wound up having to scrape off the remnants and now will spot paint and probably have custom decals made. So frustrating when I am at the finish line for this kit. So if anyone wants to build an Artemis, given the current events, pick any other kit than this one.
German Stuka is coming along nicely , I really like these Border models they are well detailed and go together very well the instructions are very detailed also .
Getting close to finishing up my B-50D Superfortress, with all paint work completed pending any touch-up painting that I might identify.
I’m starting my next project. Meng’s F–4/2020 Terminator. My first Meng Phantom, my 14th Phantom overall. I’ll start with external stores.
The kit looks nice although the panel lines seem too pronounced. The decals are spectacular with two anniversary markings and stenciling in Turkish.
What is your favorite F-4 kit? I’m looking to do one with the brown/green shark tooth livery. I’ve gotten 50% of the way through a Hasegswa and it isn’t fun. I have an academy in the stash that looks better but is the wrong version (I want the one with the chin gun). What is your recommendation F-4 master?
I like the Hasegawa kits. Built two and have another (F) to build and a Meng G

What’s the difference between the 29 and 50?
Different engines with more streamlined cowlings and nacelles, and a far taller rudder. I’m sure there are some internal differences as well, but basically this kit is the same as Academy’s B-29.
To quote John Cleese…
This is another long sidelined project that I suddenly felt the urge to complete…
last night I pulled it off the shelf of doom and pondered what had been constructed so far
So today I started airbrushing basic colors… I’m going with a Battle of Britain inspired 1940 color scheme instead of what’s on the box top…
The white areas are a base for yellow and I still need to add the RLM 70 over the RLM 02, but at least now it’s on the path to completion… stay tuned for more progress on Monday or Tuesday… ![]()
Finished a 1/10 bust. i’ve been working on. started it thursday night, it’s been a pretty quick build. it’s my second bust i’ve ever done. i think it turned out pretty decent, but it could be better in some places such as the face
For only your second bust that is mighty impressive work! You have nailed the major colors and picked out the various details with accuracy.
I wish my second bust would have looked as good as yours. Great job on all the detail painting.
Really excellent! I see no issues with the face. A great effort in a short amount of time. Nicely done.
With all the cold weather here my plumber has been busy with “emergencies” so my bathroom remodel is temporarly on hold for now. I wanted to get the ejection seats wrapped up however so I worked on them this week and got them completed. The MCC seats are really nice and I like how they turned out.
Steve
Items used to weather the seats. I brushed some of the Pan Pastel “Paynes Grey” on the cushions first followed by some of the Tamiya “snow” to change their color and give them a slightly worn look. Tamiya snow was also lightly brushed all over the seat and rails. The artist pencil was used to create chipping and scuff marks to certain edges.

They look great. I really like the effect that you achieved on the seat cushions. Awesome.!!!
@USAF_462_2W1 when I first read your post, I thought you were saying that you were installing ejection seats in your bathroom
. I was like, that dude is serious about getting people off the toilet!
The ejection seats look great!
Fantastic. They look like the real thing!
@stikpusher I always have trouble with yellow. I’ve heard pink is a good color to use as a primer. Does white work well?
Thanks Chris, appreciate that.
