What Did You do on Your Work Bench Today

I’m envious of this. Awesome set up. As I’m now working on finishing multiple parts of my current build, space is at a premium in my work areas and would love something like this. But, alas, this solution is not practical for me and my situation.
Regarding organization….one of my credos all my life is that that’s half of it. My work career started as a deckhand on ships. An organized deck is a safe and efficient deck. That’s half of it. Same goes for a model workbench and associated spaces. One of my problems in this regard is I seem to be constantly altering my workspaces to better improve my organization. Trying to find a happy place. I’ll get there one day.

Cheers,
Mark

You have so many projects going on simultaneously, Toimi_Tom!

What’s the most number of builds you had going on at one time?

Thank you! Would you believe that this is a napkin holder that i found at a Dollar store.
It really comes in handy!
Glad to be here
Mike

Guess the two circular recesses are for salt and pepper shakers.

A stand like that would be very useful for holding up the model while painting, and being from the dollar store, one wouldn’t be too concerned with it getting covered up by overspray :+1:

Hah! Technically, I suppose right now is definitely the most builds I’ve ever juggled at once – seven, if you count the space marines as a single project, or nine, if you count the three Hasegawa F-15s individually.

But really, there’s just three – the F-15s, the BA-6, and that sci-fi 40K tank.

I don’t really consider the Warhammer 40K figures a “project” since it’ll never be finished. They’re more of a “paint one when you feel like it” kind of a deal. The others are paint mules, like the Panzer II and the Revell P-40, or just things to tinker with when I need a break or a mojo boost, like the Zaku and the 1/144 Star Wars kits.

It’s a constant effort, and worth it!

Today I got a new macro lens for my Nikon, and spent my hobby time messing with that instead of any number of more “productive modeler” type tasks.

But it’s so dang sharp. I took one photo of a Warhammer 40K figure, and it’s revealed a rough pebbly airbrush finish, and even seam lines that I literally can’t see with my Mk.1 eyeball. What have I done?!

Looks fantastic to me. Does 40K refer to scale? I know next to nothing about Warhammer.

I agree with Mark and I also think that your figure looks fantastic. I especially like on the sword by the hilt is that glowing blue which transitions to the cold steel.

Getting ready to start painting a bunch of 1/350 scale aircraft tonight to use on my aircraft carrier. How many I actually use depends on how good or bad I spray paint the flight deck of my carrier. If I have a bunch of errors on the flight deck, then I’ll need a lot of aircraft to “cover up” those errors.
The majority of the aircraft are from those blue box Trumpeter accessory sets. I can’t afford to buy the more expensive 3D printed stuff. Only the X-47’s and F-35’s are from Orange Hobby.

More paintwork and detail to the H39…

And started a Bandai kit for a sci-fi group build…

If I’m not too mistaken, that’s the AV98 Ingram Patlabor from the Japanese anime series titled “Patlabor”, correct? I’ve only ever seen the 3 Patlabor movies, but not the tv series. Cool looking model.

Indeed it is! Definitely out of my norm but very enjoyable!

Elephant march on your workbench… I like it…

Just finished putting a clear coat on my AMT 1940 Ford Coupe. Had to paint it three times to get it right, but Tamiya Pure Blue lacquer is great stuff.

Finished the lower hull except for some light dusting

Say, is that Sgt Ohta’s Patlabor Unit #2? Very appropriate, as it is missing its head!

Haha…I just had some issues snapping the head on with that soft vinyl cover for the neck.

Prepped a Tamiya Type 61 and ISU-152 for primer tomorrow.

Then started on a Tamiya Schwimmwagen for the Cars and Trucks group build. I wisely or unwisely as my back is telling me to use some Eduard photoetch. Camera really doesn’t pick me up the detail which may be a good thing since I’m horrible at pe.
