What Did You Build in 2006? Here's Mine. WARNING! TONS of Pics

Thanks Dan! I’m so glad to see you stopped in to see these.

Now, where is that Revell Monogram Group Build? I may want to get into that one! Airfix, Italeri, now the Revell/Monogram, that will be cool! Next there should be a Dragon Group Build, a Matchbox Group Build, a Tamiya Group Build and a Trumpeter Group Build too so I can collect ALL the logos!

Duke,

Those are some impressive models. I like 1/72 scale as well, but will build other scales too.

Out of curiousity, how much time do you spend building each week? I’ve got a one-year-old son and I’m going to grad school in the evenings while working full-time. Sometimes I get a bunch of modeling done, and sometimes I don’t sit down to model for weeks at a time. I probably averaged 5 hours per month last year.

Still, I feel pretty good about what I accomplished. I finished this kit:

Glencoe 1/74 (close enough to 1/72) Martin MB-2.

I’m just about done with a 1/72 scale Revell Yak-38 (the Soviet version of the Harrier).

And I spent a lot of time working on a semi-scratchbuild wooden ship project.

In my mind, the key is to keep working on projects until they are done and enjoy the process as I’m doing it.

Regards,

Thanks for the compliment Drew. I appreciate it and I’m glad to see you posting here.

I spend on average about 6 to 10 hours a week on the bench. Sometimes that means about 30 minutes on the bench before going to work, and another thirty minutes to an hour of building after work and before the wife gets home. On weekends while the wife is gone to work and I’m off, I’ll put in anywhere from 2 to 4 hours of time after the ‘honeydos’ are done.

You certainly are justified in feeling good about what you accomplished, theat Martin bomber is outstanding! Most incredible work Drew! As for me, the key is to keep working on something as well till it’s done and I certainly enjoy doing my work as well. Keep building Drew, your work is outstanding and thanks again for posting!
