What Did You Build in 2006? Here's Mine. WARNING! TONS of Pics

Well, on one of my other Forums, someone came up with the idea of posting a post of all the models we’ve built for the year 2006! (Thanks Fightinjoe!) I like it and thought that this is a great idea. I hope everyone here does as well, and decides to post theiur own “Year in Review”.

By the way, by now I am above 1000 models built, but I won’t know until I get a final count.

Okay, you’ve been warned in the title, so here they are.

In January, I finished up a couple of aircraft. These are the three French aircraft I finished up for the first Group Build I did this year:

In Armor, I was able to finish all these:

In February, I continued to build the armor……

…while working on a few aircraft, one of which was the most difficult model I’d ever assembled!

Then it seems I didn’t get much done until about May, except maybe this one that I don’t remember when I finished:

Meanwhile in May, I finished up these:

Then in June, I got started on my ships again to finally get them, launched for the summer….

Yet, I didn’t neglect my Armor as well. I got these done during this month of June:

And now after the middle of the year has passed, more work got finished despite the intense heat of a Southern California July Summer:

And with the installation of an air conditioner at my house, work was really going to pick up over the next few months. Or so I thought. With all the Overtime I was working in August I was lucky to get these done:

In September, again the OT kept me from the bench, but I still managed to finish a couple…

With this one done, I was able to realize a dream:

And in October with the end of Overtime, I got these done since I finally had more time to work on them.

And finally, for the months of November and December, I’ll finish off this post with everything I’ve finished to date:

And there they are, The Maddog Manufacturing Output for the year 2006. A Grand Total of 69 models built during the entire year! I hope those of you that were able to see them enjoyed the show. Here’s to next year!

Great year for you! Way to go. Hope the new year is as well or better for you, friend. Good photo’s too!

Goodness me, that’s more models built in one year than I have in my stash! [:O]

Well done Duke, well done!

Good Lord, Duke!!! I was gonna go to bed early tonight. Then…I went and opened your post!! Whew!![:O]

Great Post!

What scale are they all in? 1/144 ?

Thanks -60! Glad you like them. The photos are courtesy of my ‘new’ Canon Powershot I got to replace the camea that was lost by DHL. It does take excellent photos!

LOL! Thanks Bill! I have three times that many more waiting to be built. I’ll be interested to see how many of them I get done next year!

Randie… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to keep you up!

Thanks for the compliments my friend

No Ron, I never build that small. All the aircraft and armor is in 1/72 scale, except the P-51B ‘Glamorous Glen’. That is the only 1/48th scale model in the post. The ships range from 1/450 to 1/700 scale. I’ve always maintained a consistent 1/72 scale in my aircraft and armor, except that one and it was a special case. Thanks for stopping in to see these.

your a small-scale builder eh?

great job! you’ve had quite a year

now… all I did was… almost finish my F-16 cockpit (but I started on december teehee)

Holy smokes…!

Love the IMEX ships, which one was your favorite?

WOo…oOW! Thats a lot of building! Can you please tell me what kind of chair you have at your bench, cause it must be really comfy! You are good bro, I finished maybe 3 this year!!!

Thanks kp, I think the Tampa was my favorite IMEX ship.

The chair at my bench is actually quite comfy. It is one of those $150.00 high-backed office chairs that execs use. I got it for $20.00 because of a couple of tears and a scuff or three.

Thanks for the compliment eizzle, and thanks to all who posted. Your comments are all very motivating. Merry Christmas all!

Good heavens!![:O] That many builds? You produce like a factory and they are all good. An outstanding line up, well done![tup]

Thank you Darren. I appreciate the compliments.

That’s why on another Forum I’m known as “Maddog Manufacturing”! LOL! Glad to see you stopped in to see these.

Some very awesome builds. Nice Work duke!

WOW!!! Do you have a bunch of elves helping out there in So Cal? The number alone is impressive itself and the quality just makes it that much more special an accomplishment.

For me, I completed a total of four this year. There were a couple more that got started and but back in the boxes but only four that made it to the shelf. Those were:

Tamiya 1025 Humvee

Tamiya M1A2 Abrams

Academy HTL-4 Copter

Academy M2A2 Bradley OIF

No pics unfortunately as building all those models just wore me out! [:)]

Thanks Sean! I can’t wait to see the pics of your carrier “Seydlitz”! Glad you stopped in to see these.

CWalker, Thank you for the compliment. So far, the only ones working at my bench are me, myself, and I. After that, it gets very crowded! LOL!

Congrats on getting four done. It’s all about whether you have fun and enjoy yourself, as apparently you have. I’d love to see pics once you’ve rested. Thanks again for posting.

Wow, it looks like you had a good year. Very nice work on all of them. I noticed the buildings, do you have some of them displayed in a Diorama? If so I would love to see it.

Not yet. I do have a couple of plywood squares for building a diorama/photo base, I just haven’t had the time to get it done. Hopefully sonn, although I have no idea where I’m going to put them.

Thanks for the compliments and thanks for stopping in to see these.

And I barely finisnhed 2 or 3… Men that’s a lot of kits done Duke [tup]

Thanks Jean-Michel! Hey, as long as you had fun doing them, and they look good enough for you, then you’ve done just as well. Thanks for the compliment and for stopping in.
