What colors for Avro Vulcan bomber in the 1970's?

I’m building the old MPC 1/72 Avro Vulcan and would like help on identifying the proper 1970’s colors in acrylic paints. MPC’s color chart merely states Olive Green and Slate Grey for the upper and Blue Grey for the lower and that ain’t much help! I typically use Testors Model Master or Tamiya paints, but if you know what the colors are in another brand, I could try to order those. Thanks.

Dark Sea Gray BSC 638 and Dark Green BSC 641 over Light Aircraft Gray BSC 627. Prior to 1975 the colors were semi gloss, after 1975 they were flat.

Have a look at this chart for the colors in different company paint lines

There are all kinds of paint schemes. One thing all (except the white ones) have in common is RAF Dark Green on the top as apart of the camo.

The other color is either Medium Sea Gray or Dark Sea Gray.

The bottom is either the same as the top camo and all, Dark Sea Gray or Light Aircraft Gray. No doubt there are others.

The Falklands one that’s popular is XM-607. At the time (1982) I think it was Dark Green/ Medium Sea Gray camo over Dark Sea Gray undersides.

Pretty sure MM acryl makes/ made those all. I can’t advise on Tamiya.

Hope that helps, and welcome.

Thanks guys! I’m mostly interested in the early 1970’s scheme since that is when I used to see the Vulcan fly at the Barksdale AFB air shows in Bossier, Louisiana. They were semi-gloss with a dark green over a medium gray and a light gray underneath. So which medium grey would that be?

Also, the MPC instructions say Slate Grey for the wheel wells and inner gear doors. What color would that be?

The medium gray is Dark Sea Gray. It is medium in tone. The wheel wells in slate grey sounds off. A semi educated guess says Aluminum, or the Barley Grey.
