What color primer would you use under white paint? The bare plastic is either white or red. Thanks
I would use Tamiya white primer.
The only concern would be if you can see the coverage of the finish white over the primer white, but a flat white primer followed by a gloss white finish should be workable. Or if flat over flat, just use multiple coats of the same paint.
I like white primer and use it pretty much exclusively except under metallic silver.
I usually mask where the decals will go if those are a kind of regular shape because decals are designed to read as true colors over white. Same with translucent paints.

Thanks. I agree that it might be hard to see the white over white. But anything darker won’t help the final white finish either ? Ok
White or grey depending on the subject and what sort of finish i wanted.

I usually use one layer of grey primer and white primer over that. Tamiya white primer is so nice that I seldom if ever overcoat it.
