I’m working on Dornier 335 b2 and I’m wondering what kind of color the piping and hoses and whatnot in the bomb and landing gear bays would be. In the couple of reference books I have (not for a 335), I can’t find any color pics of these areas except one that shows black hoses and a few black and white pics that show the piping in what looks like the same color as the base paint color of the interior.
I’m not looking to super detail anything, but I’d like to have them show up a bit.
Maybe leave them the base color (MM RLM Grey 2) and just hit them with a wash?
Thanks for any input,
Bruce.
maybe blue, black and yellow or just hit them with a wash. If you did the colors, you still should apply a wash though. Hope this helps.

Brake and hyd lines are steel colored most not painted. Rubber lines will be light black or dark gray depending on wear. Fitting and crimps to rubber are usually flat aluminum. Clamps to rubber cooling and ducting are usually shinny steel. Oxygen lines to tanks and guns should be painted blue but not always. fuel lines on luftwaffe fighters may be yellow or have yellow tags on them but again not always. Keeping mind on these old planes leaked even in top form, place them in a war conditions and you also have more fluid leaks which remove paint, collect dirt, and corrosion.
If the lines are molded on I usually just give them a little dry brshing of flat aluminum and flat black, then give it a wash. If I add lines or wiring (usually 1/32 or 1/24 scale) I paint them like above.
