What are you working on?

Which one of your projects is your pet project? I am curious what everyone is working on. Some are pretty obvious but they are now finished (beautiful DAP and -53 come to mind). What is waiting in the wings?

I am still trying to find the top of my workbench since I have been home, (While I was away it became my wife’s storage space for anything that she didn’t know what to do with) so I will just have to wait on starting my Crane.

Mac

Well, I’ve got a trio of projects going slowly, a LVT dio and a couple of GB projects (A-10 and guntruck). Waiting on the shelves, though, I have a pair of Little Birds, a CH-46, a CH-53, another AH-1 and a V-22. Not sure what I’ll start on next, I still have a few armor kits that I started and have yet to complete, and I’m trying to force myself to get those done before I start anything else. But I’m looking forward to all of those sitting, done, on my shelves some day.

Still working on my 1/48 HH-60H for the Attack Helo Group Build. And that’s all. It surprises me in reading the forum that so many people seem to be able to build multiple projects at once. I can’t seem to concentrate on more than one project at a time. Am I in the minority here?

Don’t worry Phil you aren’t alone.

Although I’m about to embark on dual projects for the first time. (what am I thinking)
Nearing the end of my 1/48 RAH-66 for the GB and I’m about to start on a 1/48 AB205 and 1/48 AH-1Z.

Have a couple of other kits in various stages of completion but for some reason or another I just haven’t completed them yet. Although these were built before I learnt about filling seams, gloss coats, flat coats and future. So they have become guinea pigs[:D]

The AH-1W, AH-64D, KA-50, F-14A, SU-27B, F-16CJ are all patiently waiting in the que.
So many models so little time

Wrapping up my RAH-66; I’m about 75% done with my Pave Hawk interior, I’ve got three Little Birds waiting next (Attack Helo GB) and two A-10s (Another Group Build). Got an USMC and USAF F-35B, one about halfway thru decaling and the other almost finished painting. In the pipeline I’ve got an AH-1G, F/A-22, MH-60L, UH-1N, MH-47, AH-64A, AH-1S and a couple of F/A-18Es

And… designing/laying out decals for LemonJello, Cobrahistorian, Salbando and myself. Not to mention the website…

Got a RAH-66 waiting for the airbrush plus some armor kits in various stages

all most got my pavehawk done, in 1/35 scale.

My sig says it all… so many kits and no time to build em!

Nothing at the moment. Trying to decide between Trump MI-24, Academy MH-60G with CC detail parts, Panda UH-1D as Vietnam era MedEvac, Academy UH-60 backdated to UH-60A using CC “A” model exhausts, DML AH-6J, etc., etc., etc. All 1/35 scale. Decisions!! Decisions!! Not sure which I will do next. Plan on starting something this weekend though. Could be an armor model as well for a break from rotors.

Well, I am still doing my 1/35 Japanese modern Iraq dio with what if AH-1W… And I have a half built F-15J Agressor waiting to be completed and put with my Japanese modern jet collection. Then I have the Mitsubishi F-1, that also has to be completed and put with my modern Japanese jet fleet…

Then I still have to finish my Australian Tigre dio with 3 Tigre’s and 2 KIOWAS (only one KIOWA is actually built)… And then will be getting a Black hawk tomorrow to join it… Then I still have a half built 1/600 IJN Japanese Battleship Yamato sitting waiting to be completed… A 1/100 F-4J. And then tonight I just started my 1/72 BAe Hawk for another Australian dio…

To make things worse, I will be doing my weekly saturday visit to my local store, and with the cheap prices we have in Japan, I am sure I wont be able to help myself, and will come home with no less than 5 new kits… I have issues!

Chris in Japan

right know i am working on a f-18e for a gb. and i have 1-f-18 f and 2 f-18-c in waiting.still got to build a stuga for a gb and finish a f-14 for a gb and start a a-10 for a gb.and plenty of helos to do along with a bunch of amor[:D][:D]

Still cleaning off here. I am working on an Idea for making a crashed 60look right though ( another use for old kits ).

Hey Gino, I have a few pics of a Polish Hind if you want them. They include a squadron patch and a couple of cabin pics.

Mac

Mac, sure. Send me an email with them. Thanks.

ScreaminHelo, I’ve started on a blackhawk down dio about a month ago.Man those figures take a long time to build.(10 of them in the dio in all).Just bought a DAP at a contest this month. That’s next after the dio.Would like to build a UH-60Q Medevac in 1/35th scale. So how are the 60’s flying over there in Iraq?I sure miss clearing the “P” and calling “droops” out!The Blackhawk will ALWAYS! be the best ride the army has to offer.(Sorry Apache guys ,but as you can tell I’m a little biased). From one hawk vet to another ,THANK YOU for covering our backs back home.Hawks rule and skidz are for kidz!! -hawkwrench-

The Hawks are fine over there. You can imagine how much fun the sand is, it makes tracing leaks on the deck alot of fun but it is more of a problem for my eyes than it is for my airplane. Did you figure out how you are going to crash your 60 for the dio yet?

Gino,
I will send the pics tomorrow, don’t have them with my right now.

Mac

I’ve almost finished rebuilding a Blue Thunder model I got in a auction of model stuff. I was missing a few parts so I have to kit bash and scratchbuild here and there, but the average person most likely will not notice. Next up will be the Airwolf that came from the same auction.

Don

ScreaminHelo,I think I’m going with your advise.I want some crumpled metel around the left front as well as the hawk sitting on its left front side. The best ay I think from all of the posts would be to alter the model and carve a small wedge out of the base to rest the helicopter in.If you got any pics from Iraq ,post em ,I’d like to see your bird you crewed.Any special markings would be cool to see!

I’ve got a few on my workbench. Still pondering away at my Sea King. The Skycrane is in the waiting booth right now. Got tired of it…

My “pet project” right now is MY P-2V7 Neptune from RCAF (Late blue). Its got some bits and bobs, but I’m waiting for some more reference for it, so it is in the penalty box with the “checkerbird” starfighter.[:D]

Wessex needs his exausts and will be done then. My “Nighthawk” (USAF HH-60D from Hasegawa) is getting the last "splotch of camouflage now, although I think the colors are too dark (following the instructions).

Two Italeri S-55s (H-19A and B) one Royal Canadian Navy and one USAF. An italeri CH-146 Griffon for Canadian Armed Forces. Have two more Sea Kings, one will be the CH124 and on the CH-124A for Canadian Forces, (old and new) with some really good extras from Belcherbits, including decals!!

I want to start my UH-60A (1/35) and have all the PE from Eduard for it, but I think I will restrain myself for a little longer![:D]

I’ve just got a Panda 1/35 UH-1D, and an Academy 1/35 UH-1C which I will be cannibalising parts from for the panda kit to make a Vietnam era RAAF 9 SQN Bushranger.
The Leftover Academy bits will become a RAN UH-1C
Got the decals and the weapons… except for the M-60’s, now just have to decide wether I want to risk the fury of the minister for war and finace and buy the Eduard huey weapons set???
Cheers,
Nimrod.

P.S. Don’t suppose anyone has a spare gun site from the academy kit do they?? Kit part no. Sprue G No. 18???

The “Attack” AH65D[:D]
for the group build, (Slowly is the way that goes)
But I have a secret project that I have started on and am trying to work out some problems with. . .Like how in the heck am I going to do it!
