What airbrush for enamels?

I intend to buy a new airbrush and I was kind of aiming for the Iwata HP-C because it seems affordable but I’m left in the dark after reading that it’s not suitable for painting model kits… So, please make some suggestions regarding a not too expensive, quality, double-action, gravity feed airbrush suitable for painting model kits with enamels (Humbrol and MM). Thanks!

I have an Iwata HP-CS. I’t a gravity fed double-action with a .3mm tip (iffmemory serves correctly) I use MM enamels and occasionally Humbrol and use and cleaning on this is almost effortless. (future goes through great too) I get better results than I ever hoped. Makes me look like a pro. Everyone has their opinion but I’ve owned Badger 350, 100LG, Pasche H, VL, aztek, Sotar 20/20 and the Iwata (yes I’ve spent a lot of money and tried a lot of brushes) Hands down the best for me is the Iwata. As you’ll see anywhere in this forum, Bear-air and Dixie-art are the places to go. This brush goes for about $85-$90 through them.

Along with Plum1030’s excellent advice I would say look at the T&C (Badger) Omni 4000 and 5000, as they are both excellent airbrushes.

The Omni 4000 is very similar to the Iwata HP-C in shape and size:

The Omni 5000 has a smaller cup:

Both of these along with the Iwata Eclipse are excellent choices.

I have an Iwata HP-C I bought about 6 months ago. Have sprayed Tamiya acrylics with ok. It is supposed to be able to handle lacquers too. It’s a double-action with a gravity feed. Don’t know why it can’t be used on models. Works OK so far for me! I bought mine thru Dixie-Art online. No complaints so far! Currently working on a DML Panther II and sprayed the three-color ambush camo scheme with it ok!!
