Whale models?

Can anyone out there recommend a whale model? I have the one by Kaiyodo, the Sperm Whale, and it’s a nice big vinyl kit, but getting the lower jaw on is going to be a real britch!

Any alternatives to suggest? I don’t mean plastic toys, I mean a real, proper model.

Larry please excuse my ignorance, I’ve never seen a model of a whale, vinyl or otherwise. I would realy love to see pics. Sounds interesting. Bob

Larry, when I saw just the title of your post, I was gonna suggest Kaiyodo. But that’s what ya got!
I’ve never seen nor heard of any other “proper” models of whales.

Somebody mentioned the Visible Trout on the General modeling forum under weird builds.

I wish there were more model kits and miniatures of wildlife subjects.

That was me! [:D]
Not quite a whale, though.
The Visible Whale…now, that’ d be an interesting kit!

I want a pair of humpbacks and a Klingon Bird of Prey!!!

O.K. I know you said models, but check these out. Vinyl, about the right scale, not expensive, and look great:

I’m familiar with this line. It’s very popular in the gift shops of zoos. Part of the money goes to the World Wildlife Fund, I think or something similar. I buy one when I go for my animal toy collection. The “Naked Mole Rat” is great, but it might not be their’s. It’s life sizd and looks real scared my roommate the first time she saw it[:D].
On the subject of whales maybe on of the Euro figure companies make some. Pegaso or maybe Andrea make bats and bears… in 1/35 I think. I saw an ad in a French language mag while I was in Belgium.

Larry–Max Salas has a one piece 1/35 scale Killer Whale that can be purchased through Link and Pin Hobbies. Here is a direct link to the photo:

It can be found on their dinosaur page:

They also have a whale shark and other large aquatic animals, both living and extinct.

It is $85. It is a resin, hand cast piece of course and a true collectible.

Models of some wildlife subjects would be great.

I’d love to see that sperm whale when its done.

I remember going through some boxes in my grandparents’ basement when I was a kid and finding some worse for wear and tear built up Bachman birds that my mom and uncles had built when they were kids. Unfortunately the birds were beyond recovery.
