It may be, but more and more, it’s proving to be less reliable, less stable a hosting site than others. It doesn’t hurt to ask and to look around for more reliable sites.
The fact that the owners let their domain lapse and get held for ransom-twice-doesn’t inspire confidence, either.
True. And searching for a replacement site is bothersome. And unfortunately each time a site like PB or PI ends operations, it funnels the users looking for free sites to fewer and fewer options. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere on more worthwhile things than on an image hosting site. I’m sure that there are many others who feel the same.
I have been using imgur.com for few years now, all well.
I’m not sure if I’d pay for a hosting site at all,if they all go away,that will just be it for me.If there’s forums I will still post and I definitly will still build models.
There’s two that I’m on,Modelerssocial Club and Online Scale modelers that require no hosting site to post pictures
Scalemates also does its’ own image hosting. No other site required.
I to use Imgur and use the bbcode link. Also get the app for your phone if you’re like me and use the phone cam for pics. Makes for easy upload.
I’m another one that uses Imgur. Been using it for several years on several different forums and I’ve never had a single problem. I used to use Photobucket but I think we all know what happened there, and when they hijacked everybody’s photos that was when I switched over to Imgur.
